Inspired by the dark beauty of traditional American musical forms, Shady Grove breathes new harmonies into the great American folk music songbook. Nikki Carroll, Sally Fehskens, Lisa Forrest, and Doug Lambert are joined by Ronnie Kowalewski (accordion), Rob Lynch (drums), Marlene Mathews (violin), Gary Meixner (steel), and Paul Todaro (bass).

1:00pm    Leroy Townes

Leroy Townes shoots a love of American mythology through the murky, whisky-addled current of roots rock. Conceived and reared in the Genesee River valley, but now calling Buffalo home, Leroy has been described by some as "Northern-fried rock."

2:00pm    Alan Whitney and the Healing Committee
Alan Whitney's guitars twang, rock and slap back echoes over smooth riding grooves that carry his sweet soulful voice. He has been compared to artists Lyle Lovett, Tom Waits, and John Hiatt, matching his sharp sense of song with his own organic blend of Americana, blues, classic country, and rock & roll.

3:30pm    Peanut Brittle Satellite

Peanut Brittle Satellite's sound is hard to describe. Their influences range from head-banging metal to jazz fusion, from electronica to classical contemporaries. They conjure up an atmosphere that must be experienced to be understood. Every song is an opportunity to awaken the schizophrenic shoe gazer in us all.

Acclaimed singer John Culliton Mahoney, backed by a group of outstanding Buffalo musicians, presents classic rock and blues—songs you can't help but dance to!

5:00pm    Macy Favor

After Party with Left on Red and The Skiffle Minstrels
6:30 - 8:00 pm
Lafayette Stage

Liah Alonso and Kelly Halloran are collectively known as Left on Red. Despite meeting on a traditional gig Kelly and Liah’s true maturation as a duo actually began in the subway stations of New York City. Over the last 2 years LOR has wowed public audiences with their brand of fun socially relevant lyrics and improvisational instrumentation. In addition to busking, Left on Red routinely play in hospitals and nursing homes as well as performing for Veterans on a shared bill with Tom Morello and his organization Axis of Justice, Musicians on Call, YWCA and many more. They are thrilled to be a part of the Elmwood Avenue Festival of The Arts and joined by Rochester's John Nau on Bass and Sean Sullivan on Drums.

An eccentric bunch of Buffalo musicians, The Skiffle Minstrels have become dancers’ favorites throughout western and central New York. The band plays country-western and Cajun standards as well as upbeat originals with a swinging beat that gets ’em on the floor. Says WRUR radio host Scott Regan, "It’s listening music, it’s dancing music—played with energy and joy."

From cabaret to classic country, After Hours creates "nouveau lounge" renditions of seldom-heard hits from the '30s to the '90s, covering songs from musical visionaries such as Tom Waits, David Bowie, Wanda Jackson, and Blondie. Vocalist Kristin Gilmet is supported by an all-star band including Lou Mang, Dave Gilmet, Dave McCreery, and Sakura.

5:00pm    Latin Jazz Project
Buffalo's hottest Latin band plays everything from the catchy rhythms of salsa, merengue, and the son montuno to the more mellow sounds of the samba, bassa nova, and the cha-cha. Their lively spirit and raw talent have made them Buffalo favorites for nearly a decade.
