The Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts has always maintained a strong environmental aspect to the planning, development and operation of the festival. EAFA is the only free, family friendly arts event to have a comprehensive environmental focus in New York State.
The Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts had a major role in the promotion of this year’s Solar 2009 Conference that was held here in Buffalo last May.
Environmental Row will be located on Auburn Avenue. Come and learn about clean Wind and Solar energy alternatives and find out how to decrease energy consumption while lowering utility bills. Check out the status of our local waterways and see what's growing green in Buffalo.
To encourage you to ride your bike to the festival, Environmental Row will feature Bike Valet service for 30 bikes, courtesy of Go Buffalo (formerly Buffalo Blue Bikes).
Last year, the Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts had 2 Solar Powered stages. The Great Renewable Energy Show (back for the 7th year) will provide solar power to the Wilson Farms stage!
In conjunction with the Great Renewable Energy Show, EAFA's 2009 Festival Cafe will be bringing back the Solar Cafe. Their environmental mission and delicious menu items make them a very popular addition to the festival.
The Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts composts all of the vegetable waste from the Festival Cafe, and we actively recycle plastic bottles, glass bottles and cans throughout the Festival. |
